Holiday Club 2026
Jungle Explorers
In May half term we welcomed 38 children and 20 teenagers to our Holiday Club, Jungle Explorers. We had a brilliant few days! Here is a little report to tell you more about it.
We set up on Tuesday and if you got to see the scenery, I’m sure you’ll agree the church looked absolutely amazing. So much so that families were walking by and wanting to find out more. What creative people we have at St James’.
And then on Wednesday the Holiday Club began! The explorers were welcomed and were led into the jungle by Jungle Jill and Ranger Rick, who looked strangely familiar! There were jokes, there were games and a lot of fun was had. But the real joy of the week was sharing the good news of Jesus with children and their families. We did this through songs, bible dramas, crafts, testimonies, talks from Mark’s gospel and a chance to chat in groups.
And then the week ended with a wonderful finale on Sunday. As well as giving families a good taste of what we did at Holiday Club, we also wanted them to see what a normal (ish) service was like at St James’. We rounded things off in style by having a BBQ with a bouncy castle at the Rectory.
We give thanks and praise to God for blessing us with such a fabulous week. We pray that the seed of God’s word would have landed on good soil and produce fruit, with children and their parents coming to know Christ. And we go on praying that we would build relationships with the families who came and have further opportunities to share Christ with them over the months and years to come.
