GIVING

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”- 2 Corinthians 9:7

As Christians, our giving is a response to God’s grace. It’s an expression of trust, gratitude, and love. As the Bible says, “each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

At St James’, regular giving enables the everyday life of the church: children and families being discipled, pastoral care offered, worship prepared, and new opportunities for mission in Trowbridge. If you consider St James’ your church home and are able to give, we encourage you to set up a regular gift through the Parish Giving Scheme. It’s a simple and secure way to give, helping us to plan wisely and sustain the ministry of the church for the future. Every gift, whatever the size, makes a real difference.

How to Give

The best way to give is via the Parish Giving Scheme:

  1. Regular monthly giving helps us to plan and budget more effectively

  2. The Parish Giving Scheme is offered free via the Church of England so we receive 100% of your donation.

  3. Gift Aid is automatically collected for us and paid monthly, saving us time on administration and improving our cashflow.

  4. It is easy to manage your giving online - there's the option to automatically increase your gifts annually, which protects against inflation.

It's quick and easy to set up a regular donation online - just click the button and you'll be walked through the process.

Parish Giving by Phone

You can set up your giving over the phone by calling the PGS team on 0333 002 1260 and giving your bank details along with our Parish Code, 340634518.

1

One Off Gift

You can make a one-off donation via the Parish Giving scheme using a Debit, Credit card or your Google or Apple Pay wallet to make a single one-off gift.

2

Give in Person

There is a collection plate by the entrance where you can leave cash or use an envelope from the pews. There is also a SumUp machine at the back of the church if you don't have cash.

3

Legacies

For many people, leaving a gift in their will is a final opportunity to make a lasting gift to God. Gifts from legacies can make  enormous difference to the life of the church and the impact on our local community.
