BAPTISMS, WEDDINGS & FUNERALS

Baptism or Services of Thanksgiving

Baptism (sometimes called Christening) is about being admitted into the visible church. It is a sign and seal of God’s grace in joining us to Christ. Baptism is only administered to a person once and done in the triune name of God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Children of believers are baptised because they are included in the covenant community, the visible Church of Christ. We're more than happy to help you prepare you or your child for baptism and support you as fellow members of God's household in the years ahead.

Equally, if you're not quite ready to make the promises of baptism, we'd be delighted to offer a service of thanksgiving for the birth of a child.

Getting Married

Marriage is a gift is a gift given by God. It was instituted in creation as a foundation for human and family life. It is patterned on God’s covenant with this people, his bride, and it’s a reflection of the gospel. Marriage is therefore good for families, for the church, and for society.

If you’d like to explore the possibility of getting married at St James’, please get in contact with the church office.
